What’s New with QUIKLinks

QUIKLinks are one of the most popular and useful features of The Family History Guide. You can learn more about QUIKLinks and how to use them in the Features Help page.

We’ve recently made a few improvements to how QUIKLinks are presented on the site, as well as adding quite a few more QUIKLinks. Here’s a brief summary:

Discontinuing the State/Province Lists

Previously there were quite a few “catch-all” lists of QUIKLinks in country pages. The QUIKLinks in these lists have been moved into corresponding Choices with other QUIKLinks. This makes it easier to locate QUIKLinks by record type, in each page with “lightning bolt” icons.

Partner Links

Previously we used “QUIKLinks” as a label for links to Partner site collections. These collections are listed just under the top picture on country, province, and state pages. In these locations, the term “QUIKLinks” has been replaced with “Partner Links” to more accurately describe how they are used. “QUIKLinks” now refers only to those links found in Choices in country, state, province, and Ethnic pages.

New QUIKLinks

We’ve added about 100 new QUIKLink entries in the past few weeks. These are for record collections from FamilySearch, Ancestry, and MyHeritage, with over 50,000 records per collection. Stay tuned … we’ll be adding more QUIKLinks as they become available on each of the main Partner sites.
