In an earlier article, Training with The Family History Guide: Sample Outlines, we described the concept of using a sample course outline to prepare family history courses. The Sample  Outline can be modified to suit your needs as you teach family history topics right from The Family History Guide website.

We have recently added several Sample Outlines to The Family History Guide. They are listed below and are in Microsoft Word format so you can edit them as needed (be sure to read the Terms of Use and FAQs in the footer of each document). They are also available for download in the new Sample Outlines page and in the Course Catalog (replacing the previous Instructor Guides).

Each Sample Outline is geared toward a 60-minute class. The prefix for each title shows the Learning Path, Project number, and starting Goal number. For example, “FS1.1” means “FamilySearch Project 1, Goal 1.” Note that some Sample Outlines cover one Goal, and others cover multiple Goals.

We have about 50 Sample Outlines in the works, and we hope to have them ready on the website in the next few months.
