It’s that time again: time to start preparing for the world’s largest and most exciting family history conference, RootsTech 2026, to be held from March 5-7. Registration has already begun, and you can reserve a spot for the online or in-person events using the RootsTech Home Page. The online sessions are free, and early-bird discount pricing is available for the in-person events at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. On the Home Page you can also see some of the featured speakers at RootsTech 2026 as well as an initial schedule of events.

I visited RootsTech in 2015, a few months after I had begun designing The Family History Guide website. I remember thinking, “Next year, this is where I want to be … with an exhibit booth at RootsTech for The Family History Guide.” The website was officially launched in July 2015, and eight months later our booth was a reality at RootsTech 2016. We also had some great conversations with FamilySearch, which resulted in an early partnership that got The Family History Guide on the family history map.
