Introducing Project Quizzes for The Family History Guide

So you’ve worked through the Goals for a Project in The Family History Guide, and you’d like to see how well you remember the concepts. Or, perhaps you’re a family history trainer who would like to measure learning for those you teach. Either way, the new Project Quizzes in The Family History Guide could be just the ticket.

What Are They?

Each quiz is an interactive HTML5 presentation that you can use on any device – desktop, tablet, or phone. They include multiple choice, true/false, matching, and sequence questions to measure your learning on a Project. Quizzes are graded, with 80% being a passing score, and you can review each question at the end of the quiz. Here are a few samples from the quiz for Project 1: FamilySearch Family Tree:

Available Quizzes

Here’s a list of the Project Quizzes that are available so far:

Each Family Tree quiz has 20 questions; the other quizzes are 10 questions each.

Where Are They?

There is a Quizzes link at the bottom of the Train menu that takes you to a page listing all the quizzes. You can also access individual quizzes in the Goals area at the top of a Project page. An example is shown below.

In addition, there is a quiz instructions link on the opening page of each link. It takes you to a PDF with tips on the types of questions used and how the quizzes are structured.

Coming Up

We’ll be adding more quizzes in the future, as well as tools to integrate quiz results into the Online Tracker. Stay tuned! Meanwhile, check out the Project Quizzes and see a new dimension in your learning with The Family History Guide.
