Updates: Guided Learning and Home Page

Recently we have streamlined the Guided Learning page and made a few changes to simplify the home page for The Family History Guide. Here’s a summary of the updates:

Guided Learning

Instead of embedded videos on the page, there are now individual video links with descriptions. This means that the Guided Learning page loads more quickly, without the need to refresh a large number of video thumbnails. As you might expect, many more Guided Learning videos are planned to be added to the page, which would make video thumbnails even more of a challenge.

Below is a sample of the new look for the Guided Learning page, with video links in green. There are also categories for Research Techniques and United States Research.

Home Page

In the upper-right corner of the home page, the scrollable slides are being replaced by a picture and two links. The first link is to the Get Started Page, and the second link is to the Guided Learning page. The picture is static and will be changed every week or so. There is also a reminder on the left side of the page about using the top menus and the Get Started | Guided learning Links.
