Staying Logged in to the Online Tracker

The Online Tracker is a powerful tool for helping you track your learning progress. It has Notes boxes and slider bars for over 200 Projects, with all the associated Goals and Choices for The Family History Guide.

One of the security features of the Online Tracker is the “auto-logout” that logs you out after two hours of inactivity. While this is essential for shared computers, it can also be a bit of a pain for individual users who don’t want to repeatedly log in to their accounts.

We have now introduced a “Remember Me” feature in the Login dialog. When you check the box, your Online Tracker account stays open so you can avoid extra logins.

An example is shown below.

When you check Remember Me and close the browser tab for the Online Tracker, you can open the Online Tracker again and go directly to the main Project page. (If you were at a different screen in the Online Tracker when you closed the browser tab, you will need to navigate back to that screen.) With Remember Me checked, you can stay logged in to the Online Tracker for up to 30 days of inactivity, at which point you would be logged out. Any activity you do in the Online Tracker resets the 30-day period.

Resource Stars

Resource Stars are the stars next to article and video icons. Another benefit of staying logged in to the Online Tracker is that these stars stay lit as long as you are logged in to the Online Tracker. For more information on Resource Stars, see these blog articles:
