Vault Links, and the Course Catalog

During the past few months, over 400 links to articles and videos have been added to the Vault. To make that content more accessible, we’ve added some additional navigation links across the site. Here’s a brief list of the navigation links; each of these is explained below in more detail.

  • Vault menu items
  • Vault header links
  • Course Catalog links
  • Project Page links

More Items in the Vault Menu

We’ve added new items for the Vault drop-down menu, to cover each type of Project plus a few extras: Basics, Family Trees, Memories, Descendancy, Research, Indexing, Help, Technology, DNA, U.S., Countries, and Ethnic.

More Header Links in the Vault

There are now 90 entries in the Header (top) area of the Vault page, to help you quickly find the categories you want. However, these 90 items take up only four lines on the screen, thanks to some careful planning. That means you’ll have plenty of screen space left below the header, to browse your favorite Vault items.

Links to the Vault, in the Course Catalog

The Course Catalog is your go-to place for preparing training materials for classes and coaching. Before now, if you wanted to include Vault materials in your training, you had to explore the Vault separately. Now, links are provided from many items in the Course Catalog directly into the corresponding Vault topics, making your preparation faster and easier.

Links to the Vault, in Project Pages

Finally, we’ve added a number of links from Project pages directly to Vault topics. For example, the United States page has Vault links for the Civil War, passenger lists, wills and deeds, newspapers, and much more.

Enjoy the new Vault links … they have been designed to make your family history journey easier, more efficient, and more enjoyable.
