Talking about Blog Posts …

You may have noticed something new in our blog articles… all 230+ of them! There’s a play/pause button in the upper-left corner of each article that enables you to hear the content via text-to-speech translation. Listening to the blog articles can be a benefit for the visually impaired, or for anyone who enjoys a podcast-style experience. The technology comes courtesy of WebsiteVoice.com, an industry leader in text-to-speech.

Press the Play button and you’ll hear a smooth, lifelike narration that’s pleasing and accurate. In addition, a scrolling text window appears at the bottom of the browser while the narration is active. This shows the text being read and includes a separate play/pause button.

Enjoy the new listening experience for The Family History Guide Blog, and let us know what you think.

  1. I really love this feature. It is so nice to be able to listen to important updates while doing mindless things like folding laundry, multitasking helps me get so much more done. Both reading and hearing the messages, helps me remember what I read and heard. It is also great for me because I blog for The Family History Guide and I like hearing the post read out loud by someone else. I have already gone back and tweaked of few of my posts because of it. Thank you, Bob! One thing I like about The Family History Guide is when a reader suggests something you are right on it!
