Updates to the Certified Trainers Program

We have a great group of Certified Trainers for The Family History Guide, spanning from Australia to Nigeria. These CTs, as we call them, provide valuable training at family history fairs, genealogy libraries, family history centers, and more.

In preparation for new growth in the program, we recently we made some notable changes to the Certified Trainer Program and its web pages. A summary of the changes is provided below. For more details, visit the CT online pages.

Enhanced Contact Page

Need to find a Certified Trainer? We’ve added an easier-to-view website page that contains contact forms for Certified Trainers. Here’s a sample of what it looks like:

Updated Guidelines

Probably the most significant updates are the introduction of two areas of focus for Certified Trainers: as Presenters or Mentors. Now CTs and prospective CTs can choose one or both areas of specialty. Presenters teach classes on the Introduction to The Family History Guide and other classes from the website, and Mentors coach individuals on how to use The Family History Guide. Qualification steps and guidelines for each are explained on the Become a Certified Trainer page. Also included are FAQs for Presenters and Mentors.

Interested in Becoming a Certified Trainer?

Are you a fan of The Family History Guide and love training and mentoring in family history? Now is a great time to consider becoming a Certified Trainer. We anticipate a rush of new CT candidates around RootsTech time, so check out the CT pages on the website: they are in the Trainers menu, in the Certified Trainers entry.
