Update on Video Info Buttons

We introduced video info buttons in The Family History Guide a while back, and they have proven to be a popular feature with site users.  Recently we have been expanding the number of info buttons, as there are quite a few new videos on the site from RootsTech and many other sources. There are now about 250 info buttons available in The Family History Guide, and that number will continue to grow over the next few weeks.

About the Info Buttons

Info buttons appear next to the links for selected videos. When you click an Info button it opens a list of topic links inside a video, so you can jump directly to those timings. The list of topics gives you a handy preview of what’s in the video, and the links make it easy to get right to what you want to see, without having to spend time scrolling through the video. Here’s an example of an Info button (upper right) that has been clicked, showing the topic links (the links are live on the website, but not in the picture):

Info links are also available for a few of the longer articles in The Family History Guide, such as those from the FamilySearch Wiki. The topic links for articles jump to major headings in the article, instead of video timings.

We hope you enjoy the Info links in The Family History Guide, and watch for new ones to be added to many of the country pages on the site.
