MyHeritage’s New Photo Enhancement Feature

Once again, MyHeritage has recently announced a new feature that continues to make photographs come to life. This new feature allows people to take their old photographs of their ancestors and enhance them. Essentially, the feature ‘cleans’ the photo from static and aging in a way that makes the pictures look like they came out brand new. Combined with their ‘Colorize’ feature, this tool will definitely help you in your efforts to preserve photographs of your ancestors for the foreseeable future.

The process is very similar to the ‘Colorize’ feature. When you open MyHeritage, click “Family Tree” in the top menu and select “Enhance Photos.” You can either drag and drop your photo into the frame or select a file from your computer. After the website analyzes the picture, you can then use the slider to see how the enhancement compares to the original. One cool feature is that you can select a person’s profile (underneath the photo) and see the enhancement up close.

Here below is an engagement photograph of a couple from my dad’s side of the family and the various enhancements it went through.

In the enhanced versions, notice also how much crisper the text appears at the bottom of the photo.
