Introducing the Certified Trainers Program

We are excited to announce a new development for The Family History Guide Association—the addition of the Certified Trainers program. You can find information about it in the Certified Trainers pages on the website.

Below are some FAQs about Certified Trainers and the new program.

Q1: What is a Certified Trainer?

A1: A Certified Trainer is basically a “local” trainer for The Family History Guide who has passed a basic certification test and logged a required number of hours presenting, teaching, or mentoring with the website.

Q2: Why is this program being introduced?

A2: We feel that we can accomplish our mission of spreading family history and The Family History Guide through the world more effectively if there are many Certified Trainers around the world who are recognized by The Family History Guide Association.

Q3: How do I find a Certified Trainer?

A3: Go to Trainers > Certified Trainers > List of Certified Trainers (https://www.thefhguide.com/ct-find-list.html) on the website for contact information for current Certified Trainers.

Q4: How can I become a Certified Trainer?

A4: Go to Trainers > Certified Trainers > Become a Certified Trainer (https://www.thefhguide.com/ct-become.html) on the website for information on how to become a Certified Trainer for The Family History Guide Association. You can also download the Certified Trainers Guide from the website for more information.

Q5:  Must Certified Trainers be Temple and Family History Consultants?

A5: No. The Certified Trainers program is open to everyone, and it is coordinated by The Family History Guide Association, not by Family Search or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Temple and Family History Consultants are of course welcome to become Certified Trainers for The Family History Guide Association.
