Changes to Computer Basics and Technologies Projects

The Computer Basics section of The Family History Guide is available in the Intro menu. It has covered a wide variety of topics, from PC and Mac basics to applications and social media tools. To achieve a better learning balance, we recently moved the applications and social media items to the Technology Projects (in the menus for FamilySearch, Ancestry, MyHeritage, and Findmypast).

Below is a summary of the Goals in Computer Basics now, and the Goals for each of the Technology Projects.

Computer Basics

PC Basics:

Basic PC Concepts, Windows and Navigation, Internet, Basic Internet Skills, Manage Data, Get Help

Mac Basics:

The Mac, Mac OS X, Basic Mac Applications, Basic Internet Skills. Manage Data, Get Help

Mobile Devices:

Apple iPads and iPhones, Android Tablets and Smartphones

Technology

PC Apps, Mac Apps, Google Apps, Learn Social Media, Social Media for Technology, Genealogy Software (FamilySearch menu), Create and Upload a Family Tree (FamilySearch menu)
