The Family History Guide website launched on July 25, 2015 at the Brigham Young University Family History Conference. We have now reached 11 years helping to spread family history throughout the world and make learning family history easier, more efficient, and more enjoyable.

Before The Family History Guide was a site or even a brand, it started out as a handout for FamilySearch FAQs. That handout grew in size until it needed to be on a website, and research tools, Learning Paths, country pages and more were added over time.

The Family History Guide Association was created not long after the website launch. It’s a non-profit charitable organization that manages the funds and direction for the website. You can learn more about the story of The Family History Guide in the video below.
