This Goal helps you determine preferences, notifications, and settings for the Family Tree app.

A Set settings for the Family Tree app.


  1. In the three-bar menu, tap Settings.
  2. In App Settings, the following options are available:
    • Save Photos to Gallery—on or off
    • Show Temple Ordinances—on or off (if enabled)
    • Show 120-Day Ordinances—on or off (if enabled)
    • Show Maps in Find—on or off
    • Show Contact Information on Temple Cards—on or off (if enabled)
    • Expand Tasks—off or on
    • Theme—Light, Dark, or System Default
    • Show Discovery Notifications—Tap and select "Never" or "Every day" or "Every week" (default)
    • Enable Multiple Screens—on or off

B Set notifications for the app.


  1. In the three-bar menu, tap Settings.
  2. In the Notifications Categories section, the following options are available:
    • Relatives Around Me—Tap and select Behavior (sound or display for when a relative is found); Sound (type of notification sound); Vibrate (off or on); Show notification dot (on or off); Override "Do Not Disturb" (off or on)

    • Messages

  2. In the Account, Contact, Subscriptions, and Advanced sections, additional items can be viewed or used. Any changes to them must by done in the FamilySearch website, not in the Family Tree app. .
