What’s New in The Family History Guide

If you’re ever wondering what’s new in The Family History Guide website, there are two easy ways to find out:

  1. Follow our Facebook page to get regular updates (we’re currently at update #155).
  2. Check out the What’s New page (in the Misc. menu).

We especially appreciate the efforts of Laird Jenkins and Ann Tanner in recently reviewing website content for FamilySearch Projects.

In Progress

Here are a few of the items we’re currently working on. Some of these currently appear on the website, and the remainder will be finished up this coming week.

  • Revised titles for individual web pages. Google Chrome displays title information when you hover over each open tab in the browser. We’re enhancing the page titles to give more complete information.
  • Updated county links for USGenWeb. These are for counties in all 50 U.S. states, plus interactive, clickable county maps.

Coming Soon

And now, a “preview of coming attractions” …

  • Features videos. These are short YouTube videos that explain helpful features in The Family History Guide.
  • Explorations videos. These are also short YouTube videos that introduce areas of interest in The Family History Guide.
  • Additional Quizzes for Projects and Goals. These are for FamilySearch, Ancestry, MyHeritage, and Findmypast.
