Previews of Coming Attractions

It is already proving to be a busy summer for The Family History Guide. We have some interesting developments in the works, so we thought we’d offer a few “previews of coming attractions” for the website …

What, When, and Why

  • Pass-along cards (fold-over, double business-card size), available early July. These can be ordered from The Family History Guide Association for a reasonable cost and are ideal for introducing others to The Family History Guide website. They have a blank are inside where contact info can be written. A sample of the outside cover is shown below:

  • Pass-along cards (single business card size), available in July. These will also have a space for including contact information and can be ordered from The Family History Guide Association.
  • Show Me video, FamilySearch Project 2, Goal 4, coming in several days. This video covers browsing and finding FamilySearch Memories online.
  • Updates to the Quick Tour video, coming in the next few weeks. It will demonstrate some of the new features of The Family History Guide.
  • Ancestry App Project, available in July. These are similar in scope to the FamilySearch Family Tree and Memories Apps, although they will be combined into one area. In The Family History Guide, the item for the Ancestry App will be at the bottom of the Ancestry menu (below Project 7: DNA). A sample menu for the Project is shown below.

  • MyHeritage App pages, available later this summer. These will be similar in scope to the FamilySearch and Ancestry App pages.
  • Findmypast DNA pages, available later this summer or early fall. These will be similar in scope to the Ancestry and MyHeritage DNA pages. Findmypast partners with the LivingDNA company to provide testing and results.
  • Instagram page, coming this summer – stay tuned!
  • DNA Project 8 update, available this fall (or sooner). Links to articles and videos will be updated with newer available content.
