New: Get Started Videos on the Home Page

For quite some we have had a series of slides in the upper-right corner of our home page, titled “Inside the Guide.” These slides provide links to some interesting features of The Family History Guide. Last week we introduced a new Welcome video for the site and inserted it as the first slide option.

Now we are excited to introduce new videos that will be taking the place of the slides, and the corner will be titled “Get Started.” The new videos can be accessed by clicking the left or right arrow on each video picture, and you can see a full-size version of each video by clicking the “full” link below the picture.

These videos include the ones in the list below, and they will be added soon to our YouTube Channel:

You’ll also notice that the Get Started button has been removed from the left side of the home page, and The Family History Guide Mission Statement has been moved into its place.

The New Get Started Page

The videos mentioned above, plus others – and more to come – are now included in a re-vamped Get Started page. The focus is on self-paced learning by video, from navigation to research to activities. you can find the Get Started link in the Intro menu.
