A Thanksgiving of Gratitude

In this pandemic year, many of us have been tried and tested in unimaginable ways. With all of the heartbreak and loss, there is still much to be grateful for in our lives. Russell M. Nelson, a former world-famous heart surgeon and current President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently issued a plea to people of all faiths in the world to remember and share their feelings of gratitude, including on social media. You can watch the brief video here.

At The Family History Guide Association, we also have much to be grateful for. Here are a few of the items on our “gratitude list,” and there are certainly many more that could be added:

  • The millions of people in the world who are actively doing family history, ensuring that the memories of past generations will not be lost.
  • Those who donate their time to digitize or index historical records, making it so much easier for us to identify our ancestors and document their lives.
  • Those who volunteer at family history centers and genealogy societies around the world, giving others the gift of family history.
  • Remote meeting technology, which makes it possible to virtually gather, share, and be instructed.

And we would like to thank the many wonderful people who have supported and continue to support The Family History Guide, whether by visiting the website, sharing it with others, or donating to The Family History Guide Association. We are all volunteers in this great cause, so your support means everything to us. We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and peace and continues love in your family associations.

Sincerely,

The Family History Guide Association
