Goal 6: Manage your list of reserved ordinances.

Choices


A Get familiar with the My Reservations page.


  1. In the FamilySearch Temple menu, click My Reservations. The My Reservations page has columns for Person, Ordinance Type, and Date (reservation and expiration).
  2. To search for a name or ID in the list, click "Filter by Name and ID" (upper right) and select the item you want.
  3. To use other types of filters for the list, click Filters and select the ones you want. You can also select sort criteria for the list. To remove a filter, click the "x" (right side).
  4. To see a legend for the temple status icons and what they mean, click Legend.
  5. To see additional information in this screen, including completed ordinances, shared with the temple, reservation policy, etc., use the left-hand panel.

B Share Reserved names with family or friends, or the Temple system.


If you are not able to complete an ordinance you reserved in a timely fashion, you can assign it to a family member or friend instead.

  1. Open the My Reservations page.
  2. Check the ancestor names whose ordinances you would like to share with family or friends.
  3. Click Share.
  4. To share the ordinances with a selected person,
    a) From the drop-down menu select Share with Individual;
    b) Fill in the individual's name and email address;
    and c) Click Send . When the person you sent the request to accepts the ordinance sharing, those ordinances will be removed from your reservation list.
  5. To share the ordinances with a family group, and
    c) Click Share. (For information on setting up family groups, see Goal 10 in FamilySearch Project 1.)
    a) From the drop-down menu select Share with Group;
    b) Click the name of the sharing group you want (you can also click a right-arrow to see details about the ordinances and people);
    and c) Click Send .
  6. To see ordinances you have shared with groups, click the Shared with Groups tab. In that screen you can filter the ordinances or see a legend for the temple status icons (see Choice A above).

  8. To share a reservation with the Temple system, click Share with Temple and select the ordinances to share. Then click Share with Temple again.
  9. To unreserve names, check the ancestor names whose ordinances you would like to unreserve.
  10. Click Unreserve. The ordinances can then be reserved by any FamilySearch user.

C Handle FamilySearch notifications about status for ordinances.


You can see notifications from FamilySearch about reserved ordinances that have expired, are about to expire, or have been completed by the temple system from ordinances you have shared.

  1. In the upper-right corner, click the Notifications icon. Titles appear in the left pane, with details in the right pane. Newest notifications appear at the top of the list. Unread notifications are indicated in bold.
  2. You can click Show All Notifications to display aaditional entries, if any.
  3. To delete a message, select the message and click the Trash icon.
