Cleaning Up with Tree Sweeper
In a previous post, we said farewell to Find-A-Record, a popular program for updating and maintaining your data in FamilySearch Family Tree. It was featured in Project 1: Family Tree in The Family History Guide. Now there is a worthy successor to Find-A-Record: it’s Tree Sweeper, from the BYU Family History Technology Lab.
In a nutshell, Tree Sweeper examines your Family Tree up to 7 generations at a time, looking for
When the sweep finishes, a Results screen is displayed to show the errors or other information that was requested in the Options.
We’ve added a new Choice in The Family History Guide with instructions on using Tree Sweeper. You’ll find in Project 1: Family Tree, Goal 6, Choice H. There is also an in-depth tutorial on the Tree Sweeper site here.
