July 4 – 250 Years of Independence
This coming Saturday marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Nationwide celebrations are planned, including Tall Ships flotillas along the east coast in July, a Philadelphia time capsule including entries from all 50 states, and of course the familiar parades, picnics, and fireworks. As we enjoy the festivities with family and friends, it’s worthwhile to reflect on our ancestors who were instrumental in paving the way for freedom and the formation of the United States of America.
