Here’s a summary of the top 20 additions to The Family History Guide website in 2020, from most recent to earliest:<\/p>\n

20<\/strong>\u2014Come, Follow Me<\/em> Companion: Finished a series of 50 lessons highlighting how family history activities and study can be added to the Come, Follow Me<\/em> curriculum.<\/p>\n 19<\/strong>\u2014Quick Research Basics Videos – Six new videos were added on U.S. research and research fundamentals. They are on our YouTube Channel and linked in the corresponding Goals.<\/p>\n 18<\/strong>\u2014The Family History Guide for Libraries: This page in the Trainers menu explains how public libraries can take advantage of resources in The Family History Guide to help raise awareness of family history in their outreach programs.<\/p>\n 17<\/strong>\u2014Youth Pages for Latter-day Saints: These include topics of special interest for Latter-day Saint youth.<\/p>\n 16<\/strong>\u2014Youth Menu and Youth Pages: These pages introduce youth to family history topics. The Youth menu is included at the top, next to Activities.<\/p>\n 15<\/strong>\u2014Tour panel and button on Home page: Clicking the Tour button on the Home page opens a side panel with links to explore, taking you step by step through The Family History Guide website.<\/p>\n 14<\/strong>\u2014Get Started: This page was updated to include a more Q&A-driven approach, with over 300 questions and places to find answers in The Family History Guide.<\/p>\n 13<\/strong>\u2014Trainers menu: Added the Prepare a Class page and the Trainers Corner sections in the menu.<\/p>\n 12<\/strong>\u2014”More Countries” Goals (collector pages): Additions were made for Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Pacific Islands, and South America.<\/p>\n 11<\/strong>\u2014Surname eBooks: These free books are available in each of the Learning Path menus.<\/p>\n 10<\/strong>\u2014Show Me videos: Videos were added throughout the year, for FamilySearch, Ancestry, and MyHeritage.<\/p>\n 9<\/strong>\u2014African countries: Pages were added for Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Democratic Republic of the Congo.<\/p>\n 8<\/strong>\u2014Links for all Choices in The Family History Guide: You can now access any Choice by its URL; just add a pound sign and the letter at the end, such as https:\/\/www.thefhguide.com\/project-1-family-tree03.html#b<\/p>\n 7<\/strong>\u2014Daily tips on Twitter: There are now over 200 tweets from The Family History Guide on the page.<\/p>\n 6<\/strong>\u2014Daily tips on our Facebook pages: These are included in our main Facebook page and in the Trainers and Consultants page.<\/p>\n 5<\/strong>\u2014Home School page: A page dedicated to home school resources for family history was added in the Trainers menu.<\/p>\n 4<\/strong>\u2014Goals for Culture\/Geography\/History: Goals that cover geography, culture, and history were added in most of the Country pages, as the final Goals.<\/p>\n 3<\/strong>\u2014Embedded videos: Many Choices now have videos that are embedded on the page for easier viewing access.<\/p>\n 2<\/strong>\u2014Stars Reporting: After logging in to the Online Tracker, you can run an online report that lists all videos you have watched and articles you have read in The Family History Guide.<\/p>\n 1<\/strong>\u2014Tip of the Day: It made its debut on January 1, with a new family history tip added each day, Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Although 2020 was a very challenging year for most of us, good things were happening with The Family History Guide.
