It has been a busy week for Country pages in The Family History Guide! We hope you enjoy the updates and share them with your friends. Here’s a summary of what’s new and improved …<\/p>\n

Countries Menu\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

The notable change here is the addition of sub-menus. When you click any of the Regions\u2014North America, British Isles, Scandinavia, Central Europe, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia\/Pacific, or South America\u2014or Ethnic, you’ll see a list of countries or ethnic groups to choose from. This lets you make a selection right away, instead of having to navigate on additional pages. Note that only one sub-menu can be open at a time; when you click another Region, any previously opened sub-menu is closed. Also, if you move the pointer away from the menu so it closes, the menu will display the open sub-menu the next time you open the menu.<\/p>\n

The example at the right shows the sub-menu open for North America. You can click any of the items in the sub-menu to open that Country page.<\/p>\n

(Note: On smartphone you will need to open the sub-menu twice. We are working on fixing that issue.)<\/p>\n

All Countries<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can still use the All Countries<\/a> link (top of the menu) instead of the Regions\u2014and we have made improvements there as well. Instead of a long, scrollable list by Region, you’ll see a shorter, alphabetized list of the Country pages at the top, like this:<\/p>\n

For smartphones, the list uses a slightly different format to make best use of the screen size.<\/p>\n

More Countries<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the list of Country pages, we’ve added a More Countries link. Clicking that link opens a list of “smaller” countries\u2014those that do not have their own Country pages. For each country in the list, the following links are shown:<\/p>\n
