This site is<span class=\"highlightNode\">\u00a0<\/span>an interactive, cloud-based service in which you can create a timeline of your family\u2019s past, present, and future. Made up of photos and milestones (such as births, marriages, deaths, and any other event you would like to add), it tells the story of your family from your earliest known ancestor right through to today. Twile has integrated with<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/media.familysearch.org\/twile-integrates-with-familysearch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FamilySearch<\/a>\u00a0to make importing a \u201cone button\u201d snap!\u00a0Add more recent events\u00a0from your own life, and then invite your family to explore and contribute. \u00a0There is no end to the fun of personalizing your timeline! See more in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefhguide.com\/blog\/create-a-timeline-with-twile-a-fun-family-activity-from-the-fhg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this blog post.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To add to the fun (and functionality) of a timeline, a new tool (described in this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/blog\/en\/calendar-ancestral-moments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FamilySearch blog post)<\/a>\u00a0is now available. This service personalizes dates in your family history for you. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/campaign\/calendar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Calendar of Ancestral Moments<\/a>\u00a0provides a list of important events that happened in your family history on particular calendar dates including your direct ancestor&#8217;s<span class=\"text_exposed_show\"> births, marriages, and deaths throughout the year.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">You can also opt to receive a Facebook\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">message of the event along with\u00a0information about your ancestor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"author vcard\"><span class=\"fn\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/blog\/en\/author\/lahuber\/\" rel=\"author\">Leslie Albrecht Huber<\/a>\u00a0writes that to get started, &#8220;simply visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/campaign\/calendar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">familysearch.org\/campaign\/calendar<\/a>, and log in to your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FamilySearch<\/a>\u00a0Account.&#8221; When your ancestor calendar appears, you will see that it begins with January. She gives the following example:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fh.familysearch.org\/system\/files\/team\/ait\/images\/blog\/wynona-ancestor-date.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fh.familysearch.org\/system\/files\/team\/ait\/images\/blog\/wynona-ancestor-date.png\" alt=\"Important dates in your family history\" width=\"60%\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 270px;\">Quick links on the calendar help me learn more about my ancestors. If I click\u00a0<b>View Relationship<\/b>, I am shown the direct link from me back to my grandmother. If I click her name, I see a summary of her basic vital information, such as birth and death dates and places, sources, and memories that are attached to her. If I click the\u00a0<b>Tree<\/b>\u00a0or\u00a0<b>Person icons<\/b>\u00a0at the bottom of the box, I am able to see even more information.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">Mat Trotter (<a href=\"https:\/\/genealogytrot.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GeneologyTrot)<\/a>\u00a0received a message that it was his grandfather&#8217;s 105th birthday, so he posted the information from the message (along with a picture of him) to his Bartholomew Family History page on Facebook. He asked for family members to post pictures or stories about him on his birthday on his Facebook group timeline and got twelve responses. He then uploaded the stories to his memories page on FamilySearch.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2285 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefhguide.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/reminders-from-claendar-FS-300x190.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thefhguide.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/reminders-from-claendar-FS-300x190.png 300w, https:\/\/www.thefhguide.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/reminders-from-claendar-FS.png 394w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/> I am excited to begin posting about my ancestor&#8217;s life events\u00a0to connect with family members so we can remember them and celebrate together. It was so easy to set up my calendar, and so amazing to be reminded that my great-grandfather, Thomas Rees, had a birthday this very week! See if any records or stories are attached. Share something that you learn with your family.<\/li>\n<li>Glance over your entire calendar to see if any ancestors share important dates with your family now. Perhaps your ancestors married on your anniversary or share a birthday with one of your children. Point these out to your family members to build connections.<\/li>\n<li>For families with small children, choose an ancestor of the month\u2014perhaps someone who has a birthday that month. You could have a party for him or her that includes singing \u201cHappy Birthday,\u201d eating a treat, and sharing a story about his or her life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>She concludes: &#8220;Now that you\u2019ve discovered this new way to connect with your family, don\u2019t keep it a secret.
