Gathering, identifying,\u00a0 labeling, and sharing photos from the past (along with the stories behind them) can be an exciting, unifying experience that can connect your family in remarkable ways.\u00a0 For example, if you have photos in your MyHeritage gallery, consider sharing them in slideshows. I must admit that it sometimes takes me awhile to find and understand instructions on a particular site for a goal I am hoping to accomplish in doing family history.\u00a0 That was exactly the case with the MyHeritage slideshow project in the beginning, but when I\u00a0 used the guidance in Choice C, I achieved my goal easier and much faster!\u00a0 \u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><span style=\"font-size: 1rem; font-weight: 800;\">Choice C: View slideshows instructions:<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>To view a slideshow of your main Family photo album, click\u00a0<b>Slideshow<\/b>\u00a0(left side of the Home page).\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a01. To select a different group of photos for the slideshow, a) Click\u00a0<b>Select album<\/b>\u00a0in the top menu bar while the slideshow is running; and b) Select another album or &#8220;Recent photos&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thefhguide.com\/img\/mh\/slideshow-effects.JPG\" width=\"500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2. To add an effect to the slideshow, a) Click\u00a0<b>Choose effect<\/b>\u00a0(top menu bar); b) Click one of the slideshow effects in the list; and\u00a0c) Click\u00a0<b>Select<\/b>. Here are descriptions of the slideshow effects and how to use them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Classic<\/i>\u2014Shows slides for 5 seconds each with a fade transition. Options: Pause\/Resume (lower-right corner), Next slide (plus sign on the right), Previous slide (minus sign on the left).<\/li>\n<li><i>Ken Burns<\/i>\u2014Zooms in or zoom out for 5 seconds with\u00a0quick fade.<\/li>\n<li><i>3D Wall (three versions to choose from)<\/i>\u2014Stacks the slides in a 3D wall. Click a slide to enlarge it; click it again to return it to the wall. Move the white slider at the bottom to the left or right to rotate the wall.<\/li>\n<li><i>Photo stack<\/i>\u2014Scatters slides onto a background. Click a slide to enlarge it in the center; click it again to return it to the stack.<\/li>\n<li><i>Cover flow<\/i>\u2014Arranges slides in a line with one in the center. Click a slide to move it to the center; click the slider bar to rotate the slides.<\/li>\n<li><i>Note<\/i>\u00a0:\u00a0Videos that are included slideshows do not use the slideshow effects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Choice D<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/thefhguide.com\/project-3-memories-mh06.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Share Slideshows With Others<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Slideshow<\/b>\u00a0(left side of the Home page).<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Share<\/b>\u00a0(top menu).<\/li>\n<li>Copy the link that appears in the dialog.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Email it now<\/b>\u00a0to display the &#8220;Send email&#8221; screen.<\/li>\n<li>In the &#8220;To:&#8221; box, clear any names that should not receive invitations to view the slideshow.<\/li>\n<li>If you want to include additional people, add their name and email addresses in the &#8220;Not listed above?&#8221; area. You can click &#8220;Add more&#8221; to add additional names.<\/li>\n<li>Edit the Subject and Message fields as desired. The URL is what the recipient will click to view the slideshow.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<b>Send<\/b>\u00a0to send the email.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>What a fun project to accomplish, and even more fun to share. This past weekend, my brother-in-law, his mom, and as many\u00a0family\u00a0members who could gather (children, grandchildren,\u00a0and spouses included), met in the home of his sister to go through several boxes of family photos. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1439 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thefhguide.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/old_family_300x400-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thefhguide.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/old_family_300x400-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.thefhguide.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/old_family_300x400.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>Their goal was to sort, file, label, and reminisce\u00a0while connecting to the past, and to do it while the matriarch of the family is still living (the patriarch has passed away).\u00a0 What a bonding experience they shared!\u00a0 Now, these photos can be placed online for these\u00a0family members, all those who were not at this gathering, and all of their posterity to enjoy.\u00a0 MyHeritage slideshow could be the next step for them and\/or so many other options would be wonderful, too.
