This past year has seen a lot of changes and growth in The Family History Guide. As always, we are especially grateful to those who do family history work and those who support our website. We also note that we have added over 1,000 new likes to our Facebook page in the last couple of months, which is much appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s the countdown<\/strong>, from 10 to 1 for 2025. Also included are links to blog articles for each of these items – click the titles to see the articles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Two-minute Demos<\/a><\/strong> –\u00a0 Early in 2025 we added a page to the Trainers menu<\/a> to help people give quick and informative demos of The Family History Guide website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Gen Societies, Clubs and SIGs<\/a><\/strong> –\u00a0We also added an entry in the Trainers menu<\/a> for a page designed for genealogy societies, genealogy clubs, and SIGs (Special Interest Groups). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Feedspot’s Top FH Blogs<\/a><\/strong> –\u00a0The Family History Guide was honored by Feedspot as on of the Top 75 American History blog sites, coming in at #23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Management Team<\/strong> and Intern<\/strong>: David Aird<\/a>, Barbara Tubbs<\/a>, Zion Robertson<\/a><\/strong> –\u00a0In 2025, David Aird joined our Management Team as a Show Booth Technology Specialist, and Barbara Tubbs joines as a Content Specialist. We also welcomed Zion Robertson as an intern working on education projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. I Have a Question<\/a><\/strong> –\u00a0This collection of 90-second videos, hosted by friendly avatars, aims to answer some of the most commonly asked genealogy questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.<\/strong> Website updates and landing pages<\/a><\/strong> –\u00a0The website has a simplified look, with a focus on four items: About the Family History Guide, Learning Paths, Research, and Family History Activities. These are each introduced by new videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Get Started<\/a> and Guided Learning<\/a> videos<\/strong> –\u00a0\u00a0We now have over 80 interactive videos hosted by our friendly avatars. These brief videos cover a wide range of family history topics, with built-in self-study tools included for the Guided Learning videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. RootsTech 2025<\/a><\/strong> –\u00a0Another great show at RootsTech in Salt City in March was highlighed by meeting thousands of visitors, and presentations by James Tanner, Miles Meyer, Scott & Angelle Anderson, and Bob Taylor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. 10th Anniversary<\/a><\/strong> –\u00a0We made it to 10 years! On July 25, 2025 we celebrated the 10th anniversary of The Family History Guide website, which launched in 2015 at the Brigham Young University Family History Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Viewpoint broadcasts<\/a><\/strong> –\u00a0In April the Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid project aired custom videos about The Family History Guide nationwide. The videos were broadcast nationwide, reaching PBS affiliates with viewership of an estimated 60 million in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
